Lost
Dutchman State Park is located just a few miles east of Phoenix.
The major feature of the park is the Superstition Mountains
which rise up from the surrounding hills.

The
cactus were just beginning to bloom and as you can see the
wild flowers were blooming like crazy. This area is basically
a sonoran desert type ecosystem dominated by various types
of cactus including the saguaro with its distinctive upraised
arms.

We
were fortunate to find so many wildflowers in bloom during
our visit. The combination of sun and heat reflected from
the ground made the temperature feel like it was over 100.
